(Los Angeles, California – October 28, 2016) Three Los Angeles Airport Police Officers graduated from the LAPD Academy in a ceremony held at the newly renovated Elysian Park Academy near Dodger Stadium. LAPD Academy Class 5-16 with thirty-two recruit officers was the first class to graduate under the leadership of Los Angeles Airport Police Drill Instructor Carlos Gonzalez. “This was a hard working class, eager and ready to serve the traveling public and residents of Los Angeles,” said Gonzalez.

Deaton Auditorium, six Los Angeles Airport Police Officers were recognized for outstanding work on the United States v. Paul Anthony Ciancia, a federal case involving the November 1, 2013, Terminal 3 shooting at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), that took the life of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employee Gerardo Hernandez and severely wounded three others.
(Los Angeles, California – September 19, 2016) At 8:20 p.m. on September 14, 2016 Los Angeles Airport Police received a call of a man on the ledge of the 401 parking structure of Terminal 4 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The first officers on scene were shocked to see a young Korean speaking man dangling over the edge of the four story parking structure. Immediately Officers Michael Dear and Daniel Krockel built a rapport with the distraught man, utilizing the translation applications on their smart phones.
